OUR STORYOwned by Oceana County native Jason Wenk and wife Kayla, Farmhouse Kitchen and Market is an expression of the couple's desire to invest in a community that’s brought them joy. After purchasing Oceana Golf Course and Benona Shores Golf Course in 2020, Jason and Kayla decided to open a restaurant and market that would share their love for farm to table cuisine.
The pair, who reside in California, bring West Coast sensibilities to Farmhouse. The menu is designed to highlight unique flavors and simple yet creative dishes, brought to life with meat and produce sourced locally. They’ve also thoughtfully curated a market to showcase the work of local artists and offer an array of goods for purchase.
MEET OUR CHEFIf you’re wondering about the inspiration behind our handcrafted food, look no further than our head chef and general manager, Muskegon native Dennis Glover. His roots grow deep in West Michigan, so it’s only fitting that the Farmhouse menu includes unique interpretations of beloved comfort foods. Items include his award-winning baby back ribs, along with a Quinoa Lentil Bowl, Seared Salmon, and a Brisket Reuben—all sourced with ingredients from local farmers. To build the Farmhouse kitchen from the ground up, Glover has drawn on years of experience, including his time studying at a culinary school in New York, 10 years as a chef at Spring Lake Country Club, and five years as an instructor at Baker College Culinary School.
